Geelong youngster Jhye Clark did his recall chances no harm after a dominant performance in the VFL.
Clark recorded 32 disposals, eight clearances and five tackles in the victory, impressing onlookers on the day.
Veteran Mitch Duncan featured in the reserves and provided a calm presence while mid-season draftee fancy Charlie McCartin was strong in defence, collecting 14 possessions and nine marks.
Jay Polkinghorne kicked three majors for the Cats.
As for the Demons, forward-ruck Tom Fullarton was arguably their best, slotting five goals in the defeat.
Former Geelong midfielder Mitch Hardie was impressive, while ex-Power player Riley Bonner found plenty of the football.

Williamstown Seagulls (71) def. Frankston Dolphins (60)
The Seagulls got the job done over the Dolphins, largely thanks to Jovan Petric's three-goal outing.
Ruckman Tom Downie was influential through the midfield with eight clearances and 38 hit-outs, while Toby Triffet capitalised on the dominance.
Joel Fitzgerald and Luke Parks found plenty of the football, as did ex-Tiger Riley Collier-Dawkins.
Darby Hipwell and Thomas Murphy can hold their heads high for Frankston after they almost willed their side to victory.
The pair combined for 44 touches, 13 clearances and 14 tackles in the loss.
Jackson Voss was instrumental with ball in hand while Corey Elison and Tarkyn O'Leary were active in front of goal.
Richmond (85) def. Brisbane (63)
Samson Ryan showed why the Tigers have plenty of faith in what he can turn into as a forward-ruckman.
Ryan registered 23 disposals, 16 hit-outs, six clearances but converted just one goal from four scores.
Hugo Ralphsmith returned from a hamstring injury and collected 19 touches and five tackles, as did highly-touted draftee Josh Smillie (10 touches and three tackles).
Jasper Alger kicked 1.4 but is nearing an AFL debut, as is Thomas Sims, whose impressive frame is set for the top flight.
As for the Lions, ruck-forward Henry Smith almost won the match on his own, recording a ridiculous stat line: 30 disposals, 33 hit-outs, seven clearances, five marks and 3.4.
Academy graduate Sam Marshall is continuing to find his feet at the level, while discarded midfielder Deven Robertson gathered 18 touches and three clearances.

Jedd Busslinger continues to knock down the door for an AFL debut, and Saturday's performance reflects that.

Cooper Hynes was active in the front half, snagging the winning major, while VFL-listed forward Will Lewis proved his worth with three goals.

The Sharks midfield trio of Boyd Woodcock, Jacob Dawson and Brayden Crossley once again put the competition on notice for their extreme dominance.

Crossley recorded 37 hit-outs, eight clearances and seven tackles.
Hugh Dixon kicked three goals, while Campbell Lake, Wylie Buzza, Jackson Edwards, Zac Foot, Michael Manteit and Woodcock with a pair of majors each.
Blues forward Harry McKay returned from personal leave to kick two goals from nine disposals and seven marks.

Like their senior team dominance over West Coast, the Giants were huge winners over the weekend.
Nathan Wardius nearly matched Jesse Hogan's nine-goal performance with eight of his own, while Max Gruzewski contributed four of his own.
Harvey Thomas will be in the mix to return to the senior side with three goals from 21 touches.
James Leake, Harry Rowston and Toby McMullin were huge in the victory.
The Saints, despite the heavy defeat, will be buoyed by the fact that some of their regulars featured.

Mid-season draftee fancy Adam Tomlinson plied his trade in defence to good effect as Brynn Teakle and Taylor Goad worked in tandem through the ruck role.
Zane Duursma slotted two majors, as did Cooper Harbey and Geordie Payne, while Finnbar Maley one-upped them with three goals.
