Blues pair Caleb Marchbank and David Cuningham are reportedly set to ink one-year contract extensions in the immediate future to see them stay at the club for 2023.
Both players have been ravaged by injury over the past few seasons, especially the former who has only managed to appear on six occasions since 2019 due to a host of persistent injuries.
AFL.com.au's Riley Beveridge reported the information however his colleague, Cal Twomey, confirmed the news on SEN Breakfast on Thursday morning.

“Marchbank is on the cusp of a one-year deal for 2023 and Cunningham has also been tabled a one-year extension," Twomey said.
“Both guys we haven’t seen too much of in recent years, particularly Marchbank, but looking likely to stay at the Blues.”
Cuningham has too had a rotten run with injury as of late, injuring his ACL in the middle of 2021, however hadn't been able to nail down a permanent spot in the Blues side prior to his injury.
The pick 23 was drafted in 2015, only managing 25 games in his first four seasons at AFL level.
Marchbank managed to string together a bit of game time in the dying moments of the year, playing in all three of the club's fateful final three games as they missed the finals despite going eight and two in the first ten rounds of the season.

The defender was picked up at number six in the 2014 national draft by the Giants before making the switch down to the Blues at the end of season 2016.
Both players will be hoping that their new deals will help them establish a permanent footing in a side that came so close to returning to finals footy in 2022.
Despite such a painful end to the year, coach Michael Voss would be buoyed by his young side's performance this year and will undoubtedly be optimistic that they can go one better in 2023.
