Carlton president Luke Sayers has backed in his under pressure senior coach, saying that Michael Voss will remain in the role until at least the end of next year.
The Blues were handed their fifth loss of the season on Sunday, sinking to 11th on the ladder after ten rounds.
Speaking to media on Monday, Sayers moved to ease pressure on Voss after a disappointing few weeks.
"'Vossy' is our coach through to the end of next year," Sayers said.
"Michael Voss has been a tremendous asset for this football club and we're looking forward to doing great things with him in the future.โ
Sayers said that he hadn't seen footage of Voss and captain Patrick Cripps on the sidelines on Sunday having an intense conversation, but welcomed "hard conversations" as something needed to improve the side.
โWe expect all of our leaders of the football club to have very firm conversations with one another when it isn't working as we would like,โ Sayers said.
โWe believe we've got the relationships in the club to be able to have those conversations.
"If we weren't having those conversations, that would not be ideal.
โI didn't see the footage but good on them that they're having hard conversations about what they can do to do better.โ
Carlton's only win in the past month has come against an understrength West Coast side, but the Blues remain just two premiership points behind eighth spot.
"We're not playing good footy at the moment, we're not happy with where we're at," Sayers said.
"We have got to get better - we're going to get back to work and our goal for this year is finals.
โWe did a review 18 months ago and we believe we've got the potential here to be playing finals footy and that is our goal for this year.
"We don't want to fall across the line, we want to impact finals.โ
Carlton will next face Sydney at the SCG, with matches against Melbourne, Essendon, and Gold Coast before the bye.
