Carlton will regain reigning best and fairest winner Jacob Weitering for this week's Good Friday game against North Melbourne, while star midfielder Sam Walsh is nearing a return to full training.
Weitering has been sidelined since early February due to a calf injury, with his place on Michael Voss' last line having been missed despite the Blues' perfect start to the new season.
While Mitch McGovern and Lewis Young have pulled their weight in Weitering's absence, Carlton's rearguard will be primed to take on the Kangaroos' attack - led by All-Australian Nick Larkey.
The Blues cleared Weitering to make his return on Friday, while fellow defender Caleb Marchbank is also available after overcoming a recent illness.
Walsh won't return for at least another two weeks, with the young Blues star returning to full training next week from a niggling back issue.
Forward Jack Martin suffered a minor hamstring strain on Monday and is also unavailable for the Blues this week as well.
Carlton will have small forward Jesse Motlop available this week after he missed the first two games of the season with a toe injury sustained in the pre-season.
Fringe pair Matt Carroll (groin) and Alex Mirkov (conditioning) aren't expected to be available for at least another month.
