Carlton has revealed that spearhead forwards Charlie Curnow (ankle) and Corey Durdin (shoulder) will be sent for off-season surgery.
Curnow's absence was largely felt in the Blues' season-ending elimination final loss against Brisbane as his ankle proved too much to deal with.
The two-time Coleman medallist first damaged his ankle in the warm-up against GWS in Round 17, and reaggravated it in clashes against Collingwood and Hawthorn late in the season.
Curnow wasn't sighted again after Round 22, missing the final two home-and-away games as well as the first week of the finals.
Carlton is expecting the 27-year-old to resume training in December but will be a watch over the Summer.
As for Durdin, the small forward shouldered through his injury to feature in the last three matches of the club's season.
The 22-year-old was subbed out of the Round 23 clash against West Coast and was in serious doubt to feature for the remainder of the season.
However, Durdin was played but will now go ahead with off-season surgery on his shoulder, which will likely see him resume contact training in January.
