Seasoned Blue Ed Curnow has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Carlton for a 12th season.

The 31-year-old played his 200th career game against the North Melbourne Kangaroos last month and is one of only four Blues to play every match in 2021 thus far, with Sam Walsh, Adam Saad and Jacob Weitering the other three.

Curnow has turned into a dependable player at Ikon Park, missing just one game in the last four years. He made his debut for Carlton back in 2011, and this new deal could turn him into a one-club player.

According to an AFL.com report, the deal to stay at Carlton for 2022 is done.

With Marc Murphy (34) set to retire after his 300th game this weekend and speculation around Eddie Betts' (34) future, Curnow could potentially begin next season as the club's oldest player.

Curnow has produced solidly this year for the Blues, averaging 22 disposals, four marks and four tackles, all while attending the third-most centre bounces of any teammate behind Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh.

The Blues are reportedly looking to add extra midfield strength this off-season to provide added support for Curnow, Cripps, Walsh and Paddy Dow, and have shown interest in out-of-contract Docker Adam Cerra and restricted free agent Swan George Hewett, according to Mitch Cleary.
