Carlton star forward and Coleman Medal favourite Charlie Curnow has recommitted to the Blues until 2029, having put pen to paper on a massive six-year deal.

Curnow has returned from two injury-riddled seasons in remarkable form. After missing the entire 2020 season and playing just four games in 2021 due to multiple injuries, Curnow has thrived under new Blues coach Michael Voss, kicking 62 goals and currently sitting on top of the Coleman leaderboard.

“This group started from day one together, we want to continue to grow together and ultimately we want to earn success together," Curnow said this morning.

“We’ve had a lot of players re-sign for the long term and their mindset is exactly the same as mine – let’s do this the right way, off the back of working hard for each other and for everyone we represent at this football club.

“It means so much to me to represent our guernsey. To wear that Navy Blue means we belong to something really special: there is no football club like ours, no fanbase as passionate as ours and it is a privilege to represent Carlton each and every time I’m out there."

Curnow is also a much-loved figure around the club, with Blues Head of List Management Nick Austin revealing that “everyone sees what Charlie can do on the field, but it is what he brings to our football club off it which is what we really value and few get to see".

This signing is one of many re-signings that Carlton have in their sites, with Tom De Koning out of contract at this season's end.

Curnow and the Blues will be looking to book their spot in the top eight this weekend when they face Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday to conclude their 2022 regular season.
