Out of contract at season's end, Carlton co-captain Patrick Cripps has reaffirmed his stance to remain in the navy blue.
He's the big fish in the free agency market this year, with many clubs looking to inquire about what it will take to get him out of Ikon Park.
But in good news for the Carlton faithful, Cripps told the Herald Sun that he is willing to put the club first.
"You want what is best for the club, so it is about how we are going to put ourselves in a position to be a good club and a great club, going forward," he said.
"Going through it all (contract extension), there is no rush. It will happen, it's just a matter of making sure we have got all the details sorted."
Cripps has also backed in recruit Zac Williams, declaring that he might've been unlucky to have been rubbed out of the Blues' season opener against Richmond.
Williams was cited for his late bump on St Kilda's Hunter Clark in their AAMI Community Series match with the Saints, resulting in a one-match suspension.
"It's a tough one, because he's grown up playing footy and has been encouraged to be physical, so I actually didn't see that as undisciplined," he said.
"I think he was unlucky... It was his first game, he was geed up. He's got a chance to be physical with an opposition player and it's not ideal.

"I think it sets a bit of a precedent now for the whole year. If you make contact to the head you are going to get a week... So I just hope now every case is similar to that."
Cripps also spoke about Mitch McGovern, who he thinks will have his best year as a Blue since coming across at the end of 2018.
"It is the best I've seen him since he's been at the club, he is just such a powerful player," Cripps said.
"You watch him at training, he is so skillful... he has worked very hard on his body the past couple of years so personally I think this is year.
"We are confident in him, but he has got to get the job done, and we need to do that and he needs to do that."
