Jack Martin has become the latest Carlton casualty as the club suffers from a mini-injury crisis ahead of their clash with Sydney at the SCG on Friday.

Martin - who returned to the senior side for last week's victory over Melbourne - is the 14th Blue to be sidelined, joining the likes of Adam Cerra, Matthew Cottrell and Marc Pittonet.

The former Sun was all but set to play his 150th AFL game but scans on his calf revealed a strain following tightness at training on Tuesday.

Carlton has yet to reveal a timeline for Martin's return but given his long history of injuries, the club is likely to take a conservative approach.

Unfortunately for the 29-year-old, he has failed to play a whole season except for 2017 at the Gold Coast.

Since joining the Blues ahead of the 2020 season, Martin has had trouble getting healthy and remaining on the park, featuring in 52 games out of 91.

Zac Williams (glute) and Marc Pittonet (finger) are also tested for Friday's clash as both will be put through fitness tests to determine if they're available.

Williams was subbed out during the Round 8 loss to Collingwood and was absent against the Demons.

Speaking toย Zero Hanger,ย Williams confirmed he'll need to "tick a few boxes" at training this week but is in line to return for the Swans clash.
