Carlton veteran Marc Murphy has been subbed out of today's game against Adelaide.
Murphy suffered a lower left leg injury in the first term and was replaced by medical sub-Nic Newman.
He will take no further part in the game and there is doubt he will reach 300 games this year.
Selected with the first pick in the 2005 draft, Murphy is on 296 games and was hoping to reach game 300 against North Melbourne in round 19.
If Murphy reaches 300 games, he will join an illustrious group of Carlton players who have reached the milestone, including Craig Bradley (375 games), Bruce Doull (356 games), Kade Simpson (342 games), John Nicholls (328 games) and Stephen Silvangi (312 games).
