Two-time Geelong champion Harry Taylor is set to return to Kardinia Park after accepting a position with the Cats as part of their football department for 2022.
Taylor retired at the end of last season after 280 games in the blue and white hoops, ending an illustrious career as one of the club's greatest defenders.
The 35-year-old returned to his home state of Western Australia following his retirement from the game, being appointed as the operations manager for the Great Northern Football League.
The dual All-Australian is now tipped to make a return to Geelong to link up with coach Chris Scott as part of the club's revamped football department, according to 7 News' Mitch Cleary.
Taylor is set to take on a high performance role at the Cattery for next season, joining ex-teammate James Kelly in also making a return to Geelong.
Kelly and retired Blues forward Eddie Betts have been confirmed as the new faces of Scott's coaching strikeforce for next season, while another former Geelong defender in Matthew Egan has also been linked to making a comeback at Kardinia Park.
Former Fremantle and St Kilda coach Ross Lyon has been rumoured to join the Cats ahead of next season as Scott and newly-joined CEO Steve Hocking look to piece together their hierarchy for 2022.
The Cats have already parted with assistants Matthew Knights, Corey Enright and Matthew Scarlett since their finals exit in September.
