The Cats will once again be steered by an experienced captaincy collective, with Geelong announcing Patrick Dangerfield and Tom Stewart will respectively act as club captain and vice-captain for the 2024 season.
The superstar duo ascended to their respective roles in 2023, filling the void left behind by the retirement of long-term skipper Joel Selwood.
Both Dangerfield and Stewart had previously acted as the Cats' dual vice captains since 2017.
Since debuting for Adelaide late in the 2008 season, Dangerfield has carved a CV worthy of his status as a contemporary great of the game. Across his 321 starts at league level, the former top-ten draftee has racked up eight All-Australian blazers, four club best and fairests, a league MVP, a Brownlow and, most importantly, a premiership medallion.
Hailing from the same part of the world, but arriving at league level via a dramatically different route, Stewart has also completed the rise to superstar status in the Pivot City, with the dual-threat defender claiming a quintet of All-Australian nods, his own pair of Carjii Greeves Medals and a place in the Cats' 2022 premiership side.
Dangerfield, Stewart and the Cats will commence their 2024 season when they play host to St Kilda at Kardinia Park on Saturday, March 16.
