Cats willing to trade inconsistent star

Geelong is reportedly willing to part ways with speedster Steven Motlop.

Motlop, who has played 109 games for the Cats, had struggled to maintain consistency this season, despite playing every game thus far in 2016.

The 25-year-old could find himself leaving the Cattery at season's end if a club shows interest in acquiring his services, according to SEN.

"My understanding is if an offer comes up (for Motlop) they'd be more than happy to trade him," Brett Anderson told SEN radio on Friday afternoon.

Motlop has kicked 149 goals in his career, including 34 so far this season. He booted five goals and collected 23 disposals in Geelong's 60 point win over Brisbane last weekend.

While he is undoubtedly immensely talented, Motlop's freakish skill and goal sense is often overshadowed by his lack of consistency and laconic nature at times on the football field.

He has spent seven season at Geelong after being selected with No.39 in the 2009 National Draft.
