Cairns is reportedly being considered as the host city of the upcoming AFLW Grand Final, with Cazaly's Stadium looming as the venue for the big dance should Brisbane win their preliminary final.
Both Metricon Stadium and the Gabba will be out of use for the grand final, with the Gabba preparing itself for upcoming cricket test matches and Metricon booked out by music acts.
Recent reports from Code Sports' Daniel Cherny though suggest that the game could be held further north should the Lions get the better of Adelaide, with their minor premiership title giving them home ground advantage in the grand final.
Cazaly's Stadium, which has hosted AFL games in the past, has a capacity of 13,500.
Should Adelaide and North Melbourne win their respective matches, South Australia will be awarded hosting rights, with no guarantee that Adelaide Oval - which has hosted three AFLW grand finals previously - will be available.
Similar to happenings in Queensland, Adelaide Oval is already busy cricket and music commitments, leaving Unley Oval as a contender.
Should the match be held in Melbourne, Marvel Stadium, which is owned by the AFL, is leading the race to host.
The AFLW grand final is set to be held on the weekend of November 26-27, with the venue to be confirmed following this weekend's preliminary finals.
