Wayne Carey and Channel 7 are set to part ways after the white powder scandal that surfaced earlier this month.
In early September, Carey was kicked out of Crown Casino in Perth after a small bag containing a white substance fell out of his pocket.
Carey stated that the powder was 'crushed-up anti-inflamms' used to treat sporting injuries.
WA Police are still investigating the issue.
The 51-year-old was stood down by both the Seven Network and radio station Triple M earlier this month, and it looks unlikely the AFL great will return to either broadcaster.
Careyโs contract with Channel 7 expires at the end of the AFL season and will not be renewed, per TV Blackbox.
The publication claims that Channel 7 is waiting until the end of the police investigation, but has privately made a decision to move on Carey.
Carey will not be present at this weekend's Grand Final Day coverage.
The North Melbourne legend also cancelled a speaking gig at St Kevin's College on the weekend, per News Corp.
โThere was concern in the room about Wayne being there which we listened to and a decision was made to remove him from speaking at the event,โ St. Kevins President Patrick Mount told News Corp
โWayne then left. He acted in an extremely professional and courteous manner the entire time.โ
