Former Collingwood star Travis Cloke admits he would like to see ex-Magpie Dayne Beams return to the club.

The Brisbane midfielder left Collingwood at the end of the 2014 season to return to Queensland to be by his ill father's side.

Speculation has grown that Beams could be entertaining the option of moving back to Melbourne next year, something his 2010 premiership teammate Cloke would like to see.

โ€œI do talk to Beamsy here and there,โ€ he said onย SEN Breakfast.

โ€œHeโ€™s a good friend and obviously part of our (Collingwood) premiership but the reason he moved back to Brissie, back home, was for his father.

โ€œObviously the passing of his father has been very hard on himself, his partner and his family.

โ€œKelly, his wife, sheโ€™s a Melbourne girl and theyโ€™ve got two young kids

โ€œIs that a drawing factor to come back to Melbourne for her to help out and also for a support system for him?

โ€œMaybe. Iโ€™m not too sure, but it is going to be an interesting October.

โ€œHeโ€™s playing really good football and showing why he is a leader.

โ€œI would like to see him back in the black and white at the Pies. I donโ€™t think that will happen but we will wait and see.โ€
