With the off-season rolling through for clubs as their 2023 campaigns come to a close, best and fairest counts will begin to take place.
Across the course of the coming months, all 18 clubs are set to host their very own night of nights to celebrate the season that was and recognise their best player of 2023, among other awards.
Below is each AFL club's best and fairest winner, top vote-getters, and other award winners as they're announced.
Geelong
Inspirational defender Tom Stewart (135 votes) has claimed his second Carji Greeves Medal as Geelong's 2023 club champion, finishing ahead of hard-nosed midfielder Tom Atkins (105) and crafty forward Gryan Miers (93) on Thursday evening at Crown.
Improved defender Zach Guthrie (87) and power forward Jeremy Cameron (69) rounded out the top five.
Stewart played in all but one of the Cats' 2023 outings, demonstrating his consistency in Geelong's defence under Chris Scott. The 30-year-old's intercepting capability, as well as his ability to create on the rebound, were again highly valued traits throughout this year.
The impassable stopper averaged 23 disposals per game in 2023, along with 8.3 marks and 512 metres gained, and finished sixth in the AFL for intercept marks. Stewart also earned his fifth All-Australian blazer, making it his fifth honour in seven AFL seasons.
Among other awards presented during the night, Atkins claimed back-to-back Tom Harley Best Clubman awards. Meanwhile, in his first season as a Cat, forward Ollie Henry was named Best Young Player. Henry booted an efficient 41 goals and 20 behinds in 2023.
