Highly touted recruit Dan Houston will take the No.9 locked after running defender John Noble left it vacant.

Houston was part of the mega trade that saw him join the Pies, Noble head north to Gold Coast, and Joe Richards, Jack Lukosius, and Rory Atkins arrive at Port Adelaide.

Multiple Victorian clubs chased the two-time All-Australian, with many believing Carlton would be the likely landing spot.

However, Collingwood came with a rush, adding Houston to the acquisition of GWS utility Harry Perryman.

The former Giant will occupy the No.12, worn famously by premiership midfielder Luke Ball in 2010.

Perryman comes across with 129 games of experience and will look to immediately bolster the Pies' midfield and defensive cohort.

Dashing halfback and former cricketer, Wil Parker was also promoted, swapping out the No.45 to the No.15, worn by premiership players Leigh Brown and Bob Makeham.

Former St Kilda key forward Tim Membrey will retain the No.28 he wore for the past 10 years at the Saints whilst also filling Nathan Murphy's old locker.

The trio of draftees that Collingwood took were also handed their new digits.

In previous years, the Pies handed their first selection the famous No.35, previously worn by Peter Daicos and Simon Prestigiacomo.

However, the emergence of superstar midfielder and father-son gun Nick Daicos has put a halt to the tradition, with the 21-year-old holding the number his father made famous.

Sydney academy prospect Joel Cochran will be seen in the No.27, previously donned by Murray Weideman (180 games) and Craig Starcevich (124 games).

South Australian key forward Charlie West was handed the No.29, sitting next to captain Darcy Moore and new face Membrey.

The number was also worn by the outgoing Joe Richards, while three former players have surpassed 100 games.

Small forward Will Hayes will don the No.39, made familiar by premiership player and star Heath Shaw.
