Collingwood running defender John Noble has reportedly requested a trade to a club outside of Victoria, with Gold Coast looming as the potential destination.
Noble has made it clear to the Pies that he intends to be closer to family, with it known his twin, Mark, is stationed in Queensland.
The club released this statement from Innovation and List Management Justin Leppitsch.
“John today informed us he would like to explore a trade ahead of next season to be closer to family,” Leppitsch said.
“Whilst John is contracted, we understand the importance of family and will take this into consideration as we work through the trade period.”
It was reported by The Age that the Suns are prepared to offer a four-year deal for Noble, with the club making it clear they are after a dashing defender, hence their interest in Daniel Rioli.
The 27-year-old joined the Pies as a 2019 Mid-Season pick and is contracted until the end of 2026.
Noble has played 112 games in the black and white and was the heartbreak story of the 2023 premiership side, playing every game of the home and away season but was dropped ahead of the finals.
