Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott is set to spend multiple weeks on the sidelines as he deals with a "vascular issue", with the club providing the latest on a bevy of senior and emerging players currently requiring treatment.
Elliott did not play over the weekend against West Coast due to foot soreness, which was believed to be related to a back issue.
Further assessment has revealed a minor vascular problem, which will keep the premiership Magpie sidelined for up to three weeks as he requires a modified training program and further treatment.
"Disappointing news for Jamie who will spend two to three weeks on a modified training program as he recovers from a vascular issue. In positive news it is not a significant issue, and it is treatable," Collingwood high-performance boss Jarrod Wade said in a club update.
"While Jamie recovers and receives treatment, he will be able to train and will continue to keep his fitness."
Veteran defender Jeremy Howe will miss up to three weeks with a minor groin strain, while recruit Jack Bytel has entered the AFL's concussion protocols after suffering a knock to the head in Sunday's win.
While both players are set to come out of Craig McRae's side, there is hope for young utility Harvey Harrison, who remains a chance to play this week against Adelaide after hurting his ankle against the Eagles.
Harrison's "ankle inversion" has kept the young Magpie in doubt for Round 10, however the door remains open to hold his place in the senior side.
Senior midfield pair Jordan De Goey and Tom Mitchell are also tests for this week after missing last week's game due to groin and foot issues respectively.
The pair will join Harrison in needing to prove their fitness before Saturday's match at the MCG.
Forward Beau McCreery won't return this week as he continues to recover from concussion, with a return to come either next week or by Round 12.
Collingwood are hopeful spearhead Brody Mihocek will be back from a hamstring injury by Round 11.
Fringe pair Josh Carmichael (concussion) and Aiden Begg (knee) are both set for stints on the sidelines, with the latter's return timeframe currently unclear after suffering damage to his MCL and PCL in the VFL.
Collingwood host Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday at 1:45pm (AEST).
