Collingwood midfield-forward Joe Richards has reportedly requested a trade to Port Adelaide.

The speedy Magpie has been able to choose his next club as his contract expired with the cessation of the 2024 season.

Richards is not eligible for free agency, meaning the Power will need to broker a trade with Collingwood.

Richards has played who has played nine games for Collingwood - having made his debut this year against West Coast - and is seeking a move to the Power, per AFL.com.au.

Port Adelaide holds Picks 39 and 57 for this year's draft and can access their 2025 selections.

The Magpies are exploring a move for Port Adelaide player Dan Houston, which could be aided by Richard's' request to land at Alberton.

The Power is planning to acquire Gold Coast forward Jack Lukosius to the club this trade period, which will close next Wednesday night.
