There’s been plenty of movement among our Rookie Rankings following the weekend’s action.

Our Rookie Rankings have welcomed another fresh face following Round 11, while two players have moved up in our order following the weekend's action.

Collingwood's Joe Richards slots into sixth spot following an impressive start to his career, while fellow Magpie Lachie Sullivan, Hawks forward Calsher Dear, Lion Bruce Reville and Richmond's Mykelti Lefau all sit on the fringes a week out from further rankings expansion.

We'll move to seven spots in our Rookie Rankings after Round 12, opening up more opportunities for this year's crop.

Dear, Sullivan and Richmond's Seth Campbell each earned honourable mentions for their efforts in Round 11.

Selection Criteria: For our Rookie Rankings, we are ONLY selecting players who have made their debut this season.

Other players who may still be eligible for a Rising Star nomination but have already made their debut before the 2024 season will not be considered. I.e. Rising Star eligible players such as George Wardlaw, Angus Sheldrick and Sam Darcy are ineligible, having already played an AFL match before Round 1, 2024.

Honourable Mentions:
Seth Campbell (Richmond)
Lachie Sullivan (Collingwood)
Calsher Dear (Hawthorn)

Joe Richards (NEW)

Brisbane's Bruce Reville can consider himself stiff, having slotted into sixth spot last week for the first time this year after a strong start to his AFL career with the Lions.

But the form of Joe Richards is hard to ignore, with the Collingwood speedster among his side's best performers in two of his three appearances in 2024.

Following a strong debut and a serviceable second game against Adelaide, Richards put together the best game of his short career on Friday against Fremantle - amassing 22 disposals, seven marks, three clearances, three tackles, seven score involvements and a goal.

Richards' form should see him remain in the top six of our Rookie Rankings, with our rankings expanding to seven players following Round 12.

Reville can consider himself a good chance to return to our rankings then, while Richards' teammate Lachie Sullivan and Hawks father-son forward Calsher Dear are also continuing to press their case.

Colby McKercher (-2)

Another week off for McKercher due to his ongoing foot issue sees him fall further, this time being two spots in our Rookie Rankings.

A Round 12 bye will further hurt his chances of rising back up our rankings anytime soon, but his spot in fifth should be safe for the time being.

The club will be hoping to have the Pick 2 selection back in the side following their bye when they face West Coast in Perth.

Sam Clohesy (+1)

The Suns wing/half-back was again a key performer for the Queensland club albeit in a loss to Carlton on Saturday.

The Werribee product's 13 disposals, five tackles and 380 metres gained while moving the ball at 84% efficiency.

A strong two-week patch for Clohesy sees him move ahead of McKercher, mostly due to the latter's absence.

The Suns return to People First Stadium this weekend and will host an in-form Essendon outfit as they look to further prove their home ground is a fortress.

Caleb Windsor (+1)

It wasn't the best performance of the season from Windsor, but the Demons wingman's good run of form sees him rewarded with a rise in our Rookie Rankings.

With runs on the board and Mckercher not playing due to injury, Windsor is deserving of a spot in our top three after holding his own over the first 11 rounds.

A matchup with fellow first-round draftee Darcy Wilson offered some excitement to a game where the Demons cruised to victory.

Melbourne head to Alice Springs this weekend to host Fremantle at Traeger Park.

Darcy Wilson (-)

Wilson is every shout to be the second best rookie of 2024 behind long-time leader Harley Reid, with the Saints wingman a continued positive in an underwhelming St Kilda unit.

The teenager managed another 18 disposals and a goal in sharing his role between the wing and half-forward, with Wilson looking as though he's a 100-gamer halfway through his first season.

Wilson was also accurate with his ball movement at 88% efficiency, while he collected almost 400 metres gained for the evening.

The Saints will hope for a return to form this weekend, however their next game comes against West Coast in WA on Saturday.

Harley Reid (-)

A few more fend-offs and high-flying grabs were added to Reid's highlight reel on Sunday in a heavy loss to Adelaide.

While the Eagles weren't able to compete as a team, Reid was able to offer some give something for West Coast fans to cheer about.

Shrugging off the likes of Josh Rachele and Rory Laird with ease played a part in the teenager's 14-disposal game, which included 11 contested possessions, four clearances and a goal.

The Eagles are a good chance to return to winning ways this weekend when they host St Kilda at Optus Stadium.
