Collingwood and father-son gun Josh Daicos have reportedly commenced talks on a fresh contract beyond the end of next season that is set to include a big-time pay boost.

Daicos, swooped on by the Magpies at the 2016 National Draft, is currently contracted through to the end of next season, marking the completion of his eighth season of AFL service.

The 24-year-old has played 90 games since his arrival at Olympic Park, quickly establishing himself as a regular first-teamer and polished disposer of the football from the wing position.

If no additional deal were agreed to before the conclusion of next season, Daicos would enter free agency and be at liberty to explore his options.

However, according to a Herald Sun report on Thursday, Daicos' manager, Robbie D'Orazio, and Pies officials have begun talks on extending the wingman's Collingwood tenure through to at least the end of the 2029 season, potentially cementing Daicos' future in black and white stripes for a further six years.

If that gargantuan deal were to be finalised, The Herald Sun reports Daicos could be earning as much as $700,000 per season from 2025 onwards.

Daicos' brother, Nick, has taken the league by storm in just his sophomore season, and while he is on a modest second-year-player contract, there are incentive-based clauses in that contract that allow him to take home a lucrative package, not to mention his bumper ambassador deal with sports apparel giant Nike, which supposedly pays Daicos a five-figure sum in itself.

Nick is currently contracted until the end of the 2025 season, having signed a four-year deal with the club when drafted in 2021.
