GWS free agent Isaac Cumming is set to play at a South Australian club in 2025, with a connection to Adelaide star forward Taylor Walker placing the Crows in the box seat.

Speaking toย 9News Adelaide,ย Cumming revealed he had flown to Adelaide to meet with both clubs to discuss his AFL future. Both clubs have reportedly offered the 26-year-old a four-year deal, following a successful medical test.

The 81-game Giant only managed six games in 2024 due to lingering calf and hamstring injuries, returning to the AFL side in Round 16. Playing on the wing or through the halfback flanks, Cumming still made the most of his opportunities late in the year, with two solid finals performances and a Round 17 display that included 19 disposals, two goals, and four inside 50s.

The race for Cumming's services looks to be a tight contest, with the defender suggesting the choice is still a toss-up.

"Well at the moment, [it's] sort of even. That's why I was here I guess, to sus out the options and sit on it for a few days, and then we'll go from there," Cumming said.

However, a long-time connection to veteran spearhead Taylor Walker could prove to be the deciding factor in Cumming's decision.

Cumming was mentored by Walker as a teenager, and the Broken Hill product still maintains a close connection to the former Crows captain.

"[There's] a lot of familiarity there. It plays a part at the end of the day," Cumming said.

Speaking onย Triple M earlier in the month, Walker highlighted Adelaide's desires for a busy off-season.

"We just need to grow our list from inside and out. We're going to be pretty aggressive in the trade period to do that," Walker said.

Cumming moving to the Crows would sweeten Adelaide's trade period plans, having already lost Jack Lukosius' preference to their cross-town rivals.

Cumming isn't the only Giant desiring a fresh start in 2025. Harry Perryman is yet to inform the Giants on his future, with interest from Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and Collingwood. Yet-to-debut 23-year-old Wade Derksen has requested a trade to the Demons, whilst St Kilda are circling a heist on young gun Finn Callaghan.
