Crows veteran Taylor Walker has labelled this week's rising star nomination as an "absolute joke."ย
Collingwood's Isaac Quaynor was awarded the round 17 nomination over Adelaide's Lachlan Sholl, with the Magpies young gun collecting 17 disposals against Gold Coast.
The nomination left Walker bemused as Sholl was shining light in the Crows' win over Carlton, racking up 24 disposals and booting two goals.ย
The ex-captain and some of his teammates took to social media to express their disappointment of the nomination, labelling the decision an "absolute joke" on an Instagram story post.ย
According toย Fox Sports, Rising Star nominations given out later in the season weigh in a player's body of work over the campaign as opposed to a single performance.ย

Can someone please explain to me why Lachlan Sholl missed out on something today...?

Hang on. Hold up. Wait a second. Thereโs something wrong here. Correct me if Iโm wrong, but that doesnโt say Lachlan Sholl... https://t.co/MUddK8MfQd

Nothing but respect for Isaac Quaynor, an incredible talent with an exciting future ahead of him.
Crows family getting around the outstanding performance of a young teammate also deserving of Round 17 recognition.
