Adelaide tall Toby Murray has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension after showing tremendous development in the past 12 months.
Murray, who was taken in last year's Mid-Season Draft with Pick 7, has been pushing for AFL selection after putting in consistent performances in the reserves side.
Standing at 200cm, Murray is a forward/ruck who played Under-18s with the Murray Bushrangers and Collingwood's VFL team before moving to Adelaide at the start of 2024.
He joined older brother Nick, who the club also locked away until the end of 2028 in December last year.
Murray played 16 games last year for the Crows across all lines and has quickly become an important depth option for Matthew Nicks.
"I'm very grateful for the club putting their faith in me for another two years," he said.
"It's been great learning off guys like Filthy and Tex and Fog and being able to pick their brains, and getting to train and play alongside Nick has been pretty special too.
"So I'm looking forward to hopefully an exciting season ahead."
GM List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said he was taken back but how quickly Murray has come on, despite spending limited time at West Lakes.
"We're really pleased with how Toby is progressing," Reid said.
"He's shown great commitment to improving his own game and learning what it takes to play at the highest level, and he's taken some big steps in that space, particularly over summer, which was his first AFL pre-season."
Murray will likely take on North Adelaide in the SANFL on Saturday, while the senior side prepares for an intriguing clash against Gold Coast in Round 4.
He was quiet in the opening game of the SANFL season, gathering five disposals, two marks and four tackles in the win against West Adelaide.
