The Adelaide Crows have put forward a deal to the Giants' young gun, James Peatling, who is keen to head to West Lakes.
According to AFL media's Callum Twomey, the Crows have offered two future third-round picks for Peatling or a future second-round pick and a future third-round pick for Peatling and a future second-round pick.
Initially, GWS were eyeing Pick 46 and a future second-round pick for Peatling and a future second-round pick, but it was made moot when the Crows traded away Pick 46 to Melbourne.
Negotiations for Peatling narrowed to just one rival after Peatling requested a move to the Adelaide Crows, rejecting a four-year offer to stay with the Giants.
The Crows have already secured free agent Isaac Cumming and recruit Alex Neal-Bullen via trade, two of the biggest moves so far in the trade period.
Peatling played 19 games for the Giants in 2024 and averaged almost 14 disposals and just over five tackles a game.
Jake Stringer has been rumoured to be heading to the Giants as Essendon look to come to a deal that would put him in orange.
The Bombers could potentially jump on the back of this trade to work it into a three-team deal.
Essendon list manager Matt Rosa admitted discussions about Stringer's future haven't progressed but will increase as the deadline looms.
