North Melbourne have confirmed defender Grifin Logue has ruptured his ACL.
After having scans on Monday, Logue has been ruled out for the season after a rather innocuous incident against the Cats at GMHBA Stadium.
The North Melbourne defender had played in 15 games in 2023 since making his Kangaroos debut in Round 1. Halfway through the first quarter, Logue was subbed out after the incident in clear physical discomfort.
With a general recovery time of 12 months, the injury comes at a horrible time for an already struggling Kangaroos outfit.
Todd Viney spoke about the incident expressing Logue's attitude despite the injury.
“Despite knowing his injury was serious, Griff continued to support his teammates throughout the game yesterday. The way he went about it is a testament to the professional he is," said Viney.
“Everyone at the club will be there to support him as he begins the first steps of his rehab.”
Logue joined the Kangaroos after six seasons at Fremantle, amassing 64 games.
