Just three members of the top 10 for our 2024 MVP leaderboard managed to poll more than a single vote for Round 20, meaning Carlton captain Patrick Cripps' gap atop the votes has decreased with a month left in the season.

Cripps was out of reach of the chasing pack heading into the weekend, carrying a season tally of 204 votes to be 24 votes ahead of Swan Isaac Heeney.

With Cripps amassing the one vote from his side's loss to Port Adelaide on Friday, and Heeney going without a vote in Sunday's defeat to the Western Bulldogs, Collingwood ace Nick Daicos has risen to second and is now just eight votes off Cripps' lead.

Daicos polled a perfect 20 votes for his stellar outing against Richmond on Sunday to bring his season total to 197 votes with four rounds remaining in the home and away season.

Fellow top-five runner Zach Merrett joined Heeney in failing to poll in Round 20 and now has Lions co-captain Lachie Neale right on his tail after the dual Brownlow Medal winner polled 18 votes for his efforts in Saturday's QClash victory.

Neale jumps into fifth and now sits ahead of next-best Marcus Bontempelli by nine votes, with the Dogs skipper managing just the sole vote in the win over Sydney, with Fremantle's Caleb Serong the remaining vote-getter in the top 10 - polling 15 in his Gledinning-Allen Medal-winning performance against West Coast.

With four rounds remaining, we have the top five separated by 31 votes, with Neale's continued rise - 129 votes since Round 10 - seeing him inch closer to the podium with time left to go No.1 still.

Round 20 saw just two players manage perfect 20-vote games, with GWS youngster James Peatling joining Daicos with a unanimous nod from our panel.

Hawks livewire Connor MacDonald polled 19 votes in his side's win over Adelaide, while top 30 members Harry Sheezel, Andrew Brayshaw and Adam Treloar followed suit.

Neale's teammate Dayne Zorko managed 18 votes of his own, while Cat Tom Stewart came close to Sheezel's tally in Saturday's clash between the Cats and Kangaroos.

Breakout Saint Cooper Sharman led the way for his side in their win over Essendon, polling 16 votes alongside teammate Rowan Marshall in the upset thrashing.

Port Adelaide pair Willen Drew and Ollie Wines combined for 30 votes in the win over Carlton, polling 16 and 14 votes respectively.
