Former AFL star Nick Dal Santo believes Melbourne's Simon Goodwin is the coach must under under pressure in 2020.
The Demons endured a stunning fall from grace in 2019, finishing the season 17th a year after playing in a preliminary final.
Goodwin signed a three-year extension in March last year in a move that was scrutinised in the following months.
Dal Santo says Goodwin will come under the microscope if Melbourne don't show improvement this season but believes the players must also be held accountable.
“I think it is Simon Goodwin (who is under the most pressure),” Dal Santo told SEN Breakfast.
“This is even just from getting feedback from Melbourne supporters as we are having conversations about football clubs.
“I think he signed a three-year deal at least last year so he’s got a length of term left on his contract, but this is a results-based business and the results last year weren’t pretty.
“I think he is under pressure and the spotlight will be on him, but even more so, the playing group needs to take a huge amount of responsibility.”
