Former North Melbourne and St Kilda midfielder Nick Dal Santo believes Docker Brad Hill has been the recruit of the season so far.
Hill crossed over to Fremantle at the end of 2016 after 95 games and three premierships under Alastair Clarkson at Hawthorn, and has had an instant impact out west.
The 23-year-old is averaging 25 disposals a game and has featured in every match for his side this season, with his best performance coming against Essendon in round seven, in which he had 37 touches and took 16 marks.
“He’s right up there with recruit of the year,” Dal Santo told SEN Afternoons.
“He’s beautiful to watch. He’s smooth, his skills are solid and he kicks goals.”
The 322-gamer said Hill has a tank like no other in the competition, and the reason he's often spotted with a man is because he purely outruns them.
“His running capacity is unbelievable,” he said.
“When I played against him, and I couldn’t run out of sight on a dark night, but I couldn’t keep up with him. He’s as good as runner as there is and that is reflected in the fact he can run under six minutes for 2km, which is incredible.
“If you go to a Freo game just track him for five minutes. It is amazing to see him get from contest to contest.
“People say he’s purely an uncontested player but that’s because no one can go with him,” he said.
