Collingwood player Jordan De Goey has spent the night in a New York police cell after he was accused of forcible touching of a 35-year-old woman and assault.

De Goey was at a nightclub in Manhattan with 28-year-old Luke Dyson when the incident occurred.

According to a report fromย New York Daily News,ย De Goey is accused of groping a woman and attacking the womanโ€™s friend at the PHD Rooftop Lounge at the Dream Hotel on W. 16th St. about 2:20 am when the incident occurred.

De Goey was previously accused of indecent assault back in Australia after a woman claimed that he and his friend sexually assaulted her.

That charge was dropped earlier this year.

The report goes on to state that Dyson and De Goey approached the woman and began dancing with her before they groped her. This apparently angered a male friend of hers who came over to defend the woman.

After the male friend got involved, Dyson, struck him in the face with a glass bottle, splitting his lip, the report reveals police said.

Dyson and De Goey then "pounded" on the man, before returning to the bar. The woman then called the police and De Goey and Tyson were whisked away. According to New York police, the pair punched and kicked the man.

Collingwood put out a short statement early on Saturday morning.
