Melbourne are set to run out with their first debutant for the 2022 season on Monday afternoon, with Daniel Turner finally getting the nod after solid form in the VFL.

20-year-old Turner was selected by the Demons with pick 24 in last year's mid-season draft and has played consistently for Casey, impressing those at senior level.

With Steven May set to miss the highly anticipated clash against Collingwood through a club imposed suspension, Turner is expected to slot straight into the backline.

Drafted as a defender and standing at 194 centimetres, Turner has been praised for his natural intercepting ability.

The young Demon was drafted from the Murray Bushrangers and Albury in 2021, where he was working as an apprentice plumber.

Kade Chandler, Michael Hibberd, Oskar Baker, Sam Weideman have also been included in Melbourne's 26 man squad, with Jayden Hunt (Omitted) and Toby Bedford (Medi-Sub) making way.

The full teams for Monday's clash will be released on Saturday at 4:30pm (AEST).
