Ex-Blue Finbar O-Dwyer and Peel Thunder key forward Wade Derksen have surfaced as two potential selections at July's mid-season draft.

According to SEN's Sam Edmund, O'Dwyer, a 192cm forward who was delisted by Carlton at the end of the 2020 season, could come into calculations for clubs.

The 21-year-old, who hails from Yarrawonga, was selected by the Blues at the 2018 National Draft with Pick 66 but failed to play a senior game during his time at Princes Park.

However, presently lining up for VFL stalwart Williamstown, the youngster is reportedly turning AFL heads.

After six rounds, O'Dwyer leads all VFL players in marks taken with 52 (8.6 per game), as well as averaging 14.5 disposals per contest.

As for Peel's Derksen, the 20-year-old has booted seven goals across three games of senior WAFL action and is making a name for himself as a promising key position prospect.

Carlton, Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn and Sydney make up the current list of AFL clubs with a vacant list spot to potentially use on July 1.

Teams have until May 31 to clear a list spot in order to be able to select a player at the mid-season draft.
