Ex-Giants journeyman Braydon Preuss has expressed interest in continuing his career after being delisted from his third club.
Preuss struggled throughout 2024, suffering a hamstring injury in the early part of the VFL season keeping him on the sidelines all year.
Emerging out of the 2015 Rookie Draft, Preuss spent four seasons with North Melbourne before a 10-game spell at Melbourne for two seasons. Preuss then moved to the Giants where he managed a further 10 games over four seasons with the orange and charcoal.
Speaking on AFL Trade Radio, the ruckman said he still has more to give at the highest level.
“If there's an opportunity to play VFL/AFL again, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't take it, so I'm going to give it my best shot again,” said Preuss.
“I feel like my avenue is to play VFL next year, but if any club comes calling I'd take it with both hands.”
Although injuries have plagued his AFL career, at 29 years of age Preuss said a fresh rehab period could add length to his career.
“I think If I get another shot and just did a proper rehab and got a good system around - I should be fine for the next few years,” said Preuss.
“This rehab it's a bit different to the last ones. We'll take this one pretty slow and be very cautious with it - I'm pretty realistic, I think most clubs just want to see me play and get through games of football.”
At 206cm, Preuss could attract interest from clubs looking for an experienced ready-made ruckman.
The veteran said if his career were to end he remains content with the career he had.
“If I did not get an opportunity again, then so be it you've just got to move on,” he said.
“There's a lot of other people that don't get the opportunity at all so I'm very lucky.”
