Recently delisted Gold Coast defender Rhys Nicholls has joined SANFL side West Adelaide for the 2023 season.
Nicholls, who was drafted to the Suns via the 2020 Rookie Draft as an Academy selection, joins the Bloods after just two seasons at AFL level, where he went unused under Stuart Dew.

โI'm really looking forward to arriving in Adelaide. Meeting everyone and getting to work with my team mates," Nicholls told club media.
โAfter speaking to Adam (Hartlett - West Adelaide coach) l was impressed with the passion and excitement that he spoke about, that lies ahead for the coming season
โI'm looking to bring my energy on and off the field, along with my run and carry taking the game on."
Nicholls isn't the only recently departed Suns player landing in SA for the next 12 months, with Jez McLennan, who was also let go by Gold Coast this year, joining Central Districts this off-season.
