Delisted West Coast midfielder Zane Trew has returned to his former WAFL club Swan Districts for the next two seasons.
Trew left the Eagles this off-season after four years on an AFL list, with the 22-year-old managing 13 games after joining the club via the 2020 Rookie Draft.
He would make his debut in 2022 against Richmond in a promising performance, recording 13 disposals and a goal in defeat, while Trew played a career-high seven games this year at senior level.
Trew was one of three Eagles delisted by the club in mid-September, with Jamaine Jones and Jordyn Baker also not offered new deals for the 2025 season.
The dynamic midfielder will now return to the Swans after leaving the club for West Coast four years ago in what is a strong signing for the WAFL side.
"At just 22 years old, Zane's roots run deep with Swan Districts, having come through our development programs before he made a name for himself in the AFL," Swan Districts coach Andrew Pruyn said in a club statement.
"His return is not only a homecoming but also a significant boost for our club. Zane's recent performances at the AFL level have been impressive, demonstrating his ability to compete against the best.
"He's shown remarkable skill and poise on the field, averaging over 27 disposals this season with West Coast's WAFL side, which speaks volumes about his potential and readiness to make an impact.
"We see immense potential in Zane as he continues to grow and develop. His youth, combined with his experience at the highest level, positions him perfectly to become a key player for us.
"Zane's ability to read the game and his commitment to teamwork align perfectly with our club's values. We are excited to integrate him into our strategic plans for the upcoming season, and I am confident that he will make a positive impact both on and off the field.

Trew's WAFL return follows Jones' recent move to South Fremantle since his Eagles departure, while the Bulldogs have confirmed the return of cut North Melbourne ruckman Hamish Free also.
