The AFL has released its 44-player All-Australian Squad for 2022, with Melbourne leading the way with six selections.

The squad is an increase from last year's 40-man squad, while 26 players nominated this year have never been in an All-Australian side and 11 players from last year's side have been nominated for this year's squad.

Angus Brayshaw, Bayley Fritsch, Max Gawn, Steven May, Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca have been named for the reigning premiers.

Essendon and North Melbourne were the only two clubs to go without a nomination, while Collingwood rookie Nick Daicos and Demons winger Ed Langdon are perhaps the biggest omissions from the squad.

TEAM SELECTIONS: Adelaide Crows (two selections), Brisbane Lions (three), Carlton (five), Collingwood (three), Essendon (nil), Fremantle (two), Geelong Cats (five), Gold Coast Suns (two), GWS Giants (two), Hawthorn (one), Melbourne (six), North Melbourne (nil), Port Adelaide (one), Richmond (three), St Kilda (two), Sydney Swans (four), West Coast (one) and Western Bulldogs (two).
