AFL commentator Brian Taylor believes Melbourne will miss out on making the finals series for a 12th straight season.

Taylor feels as though the Dees' growing injury toll has gotten to a stage where it will negate the side from finishing inside the top eight.

In addition, Melbourne faces a tough run home, including clashes with West Coast in Perth and GWS.

The Demons will be heavily bolstered by the returns of Michael Hibberd and Jake Melksham this weekend, but will be without injured trio Jesse Hogan, Jake Lever and Bernie Vince for the rest of the season, while skipper Jack Viney won't be ready until finals.

โ€œMelbourne I think theyโ€™re going to drop out โ€“ theyโ€™re just running out of soldiers,โ€ BT told Triple Mโ€™s Rush Hour during The Midweek Rub.
