The penultimate weekend of VFL action is locked in, with details for two mouth-watering preliminary finals confirmed by the league.
Minor premiers Werribee will host Brisbane to start Saturday's proceedings, with the Lions progressing through to this weekend's action off the back of a high-scoring victory over Williamstown.
The game at Avalon Airport Oval will see the Tigers and Lions face off for the first time in 2024, with Werribee to enter the match as favourites after having a week's break thanks to a comfortable qualifying final victory over Geelong.
The second game of Saturday's schedule will see Footscray and Southport play at Whitten Oval for a spot in the grand final, with the Sharks continuing their strong run following a semi-final win over the Cats on Saturday.
The Dogs were afforded a week off following their week one win over Brisbane, with Footscray searching for their first VFL flag since 2016.
The VFL Grand Final, set to be played on Sunday, September 22, could be held at Princes Park unless both Brisbane and Southport notch up wins this weekend.
In that case, the grand final would be hosted in Queensland.
The Seven Network will broadcast both games for week three of the VFL finals series.
