Who would have thought that midfielder Riley Collier-Dawkins was still available at pick 20 as it left Richmond's National Recruiting Manager Matthew Clarke a little surprised.
Both AFL Draft experts Callum Twomey and Matt Balmer had the Oakleigh Chargers player at 13 in their mock drafts.
“We were a little surprised that he was still there given the interest from the earlier teams, so we’re really happy to take Riley where we did,” Clarke told SEN on Friday morning.
“One thing about our coaching staff is we prepare our boys really well and don’t put anyone out there before they’re ready.
“Given his size, he’s got a little bit of work to do on his running, but we think that can improve really quickly so we think he can play some decent footy next year.”
