Former Sydney midfielder Elijah Taylor hasn't given up on his dream to play AFL football, with the disgraced ex-Swan now looking to "turn his life around".
Taylor was delisted by Sydney in November 2020 after he was stood down by the club following his arrest in Western Australia, having been charged with unlawful assault - causing bodily harm with circumstances of aggravation.
The now-21-year-old played four matches for Sydney in 2020, booting one goal and averaging 7.8 disposals in his short career.
The Thornlie product returned to football this year with WAFL club East Perth, having been banned from the AFL last year following the offences.
In an interview with the Hard Ball Gets Podcast, Hemisphere Management player agent Tom Seccull provided an update on Taylor's career path, with the young football having recently nominated for the draft.
"Elijah's in a really good head space," Seccull said.
"This year he's still finding his feet in terms of his commitment and passion to the game. He loves the game, he's trying to balance work and life and those little things that come with football.
"He's getting to the point where the fire's still there for him, the fire's still in the body. He needs to manage his body and get fit again.
"He has an enormous amount of talent. It's just making sure he gets everything else involved in footy off the field in order.
"He wanted to nominate for the draft this year – not knowing that he wasn't going to get picked up but if he has a good pre-season, could he get picked up in the mid-year (draft)?
"Hopefully it means he's going to turn his life around."
Taylor played three matches for East Perth's senior side this season, with a majority of his 2022 campaign held in the Royals' reserves.
