Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir will look to "have a chat" with young key forward Jye Amiss following another difficult night in front of goal for the emerging Dockers spearhead.
After booting 2.5 last week, Amiss' woes were evident early in Friday's drawn game with Collingwood - missing two early shots on goal for a return of just one behind.
Known as a dead-eye set-shot across his time with East Perth as a junior and into his early years in purple, having booted 41.17 in 2023, there are some concerns for Amiss given his contrasting form in front of goal.
While Longuir was happy his team's goalkicking was "a bit better" against the Magpies compared to recent weeks, he'll look to hold discussions with Amiss after an uncharacteristic fortnight.
"Do the reps, that's all you can do," Longmuir said on his advice for the 20-year-old.
"I don't think a lot has changed in his routine, he just needs to keep leaning in on his routine and get to work and practice.
"He definitely isn't getting left on his own. Jaymie Graham is doing work with him, I'll have a chat with him. Sometimes you can have too many voices in situations like this.
"Everyone will want to help Jye and everyone will have some feedback for Jye. But he's proven to be a good goalkicker and a reliable set shot over a lot of years, including his under-age footy.
"He's just got to trust himself. It doesn't look like (he's going away from his routine), but I'm not sure what's going through his mind."
While the Dockers' score of 11.9 was significantly more accurate than their two-week total of 13.33 from recent games against Sydney and St Kilda, one behind was still the focus of Fremantle fans post-game.
With the Dockers trailing by a point in the dying minutes, wingman Jeremy Sharp had an opportune chance to seal a comeback win against the reigning premiers at home.
After getting possession 35 metres from goal, Sharp's kick on the run stayed left and tied up the game in what would be the final score of the night.
"He's going to replay that. Nothing I say is going to stop him from replaying that over in his head a thousand times," Longmuir said.
"There comes a point where he'll just need to move on and accept it.
"Thankfully he (at least) kicked a point."
The draw sees the Dockers move into sixth on the ladder in the early stages of Round 11.
