Fremantle forward Ebony Antonio has signed a two-year contract extension to remain in purple for the coming seasons.

The Dockers' 2022 leading goalkicker enjoyed a stellar season earlier this year, earning a second-place finish in the club's best and fairest honours.

The 30-year-old had gained reported interest from the AFLW's expansions sides this off-season, but had instead turned her back on a move elsewhere to sign on for a further two seasons.

โ€œIโ€™m really excited that Iโ€™ve got my contract settled. Iโ€™m a Freo girl at heart and I look forward to the next couple years and seeing us take the next step,โ€ Antonio told the club's website.

โ€œWeโ€™re not that far off when you look at it, weโ€™ve got a really young list in terms of age. Iโ€™ll be a little bit older too, but when I look at how young we were as a group last year, itโ€™s really exciting to know that theyโ€™ll all be better off for it next season.

โ€œIโ€™m really excited to see what these younger girls can produce with another season under their belts, I can see us going one game further.โ€

The new deal will see Antonio secured to an eighth campaign with the Dockers, having first debuted with the club in 2017.

The 2018 All-Australian is sure to play a significant role next season as Fremantle eye their maiden premiership after a strong campaign this year.
