Carlton has signed Fremantle wingman Blake Acres on a three-year deal, boosting their midfield with a new weapon.
Fremantle have gained Carlton's future third-round selection in return for the wingman.
The Blues will enjoy the running ability of Acres, having struggled to find a permanent wing duo in the 2022 AFL season. The likes of Zac Fisher, Matt Cottrell, Lochie O'Brien and Will Setterfield have all had stints in the wing role.
Acres spent three seasons at the Dockers after being traded from St Kilda, and found career-best form this year averaging 21.7 disposals and 5.8 marks.
Adding a natural outside-midfielder to the mix would help Carlton capitalise on the ball-winning ability of Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh.
Trade paperwork lodged.

The 26-year-old was a feature of Fremantle's young and dominant midfield unit this season, and joins Adam Cerra as recent Dockers to turn Blue.
