Richmond and Brisbane have broken the confirmed trade ice by exchanging a range of picks for the upcoming National Draft.
It has been well-documented that the Lions are attempting to garner enough draft points to secure father-son prospect Levi Ashcroft and academy gun Sam Marshall, who are both touted as first-round selections.
The 2024 premiers are well aware that these could be their only two selections of the draft and have opted to trade out their Pick 20 to the Tigers and receive Picks 32, 42, 43 and 45 in return.

Brisbane trade its 2024 Round 1 selection (currently 20) to Richmond for two 2024 Round 2 selections (currently 32 and 42) and two 2024 Round 3 selections (currently 43 and 45) in the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.

According to the Draft Index, Brisbane's quartet of picks (32, 42, 43 and 45) equate to 1,701 points, up from 912 (Pick 20).
Richmond's acquisition of the first-round selection also gives them another shot at creating the most bountiful draft hand ever in the competition, pending the departures of Shai Bolton, Liam Baker and Daniel Rioli.
The Tigers currently hold Pick 1, 24, 32, 42, 43, 45, 51, 61, 70 and 76 but should be able to add another five selections in the top 25.
