Melbourne and Adelaide have exchanged picks that has opened up week two of the AFL Trade period.

The Crows have sent Pick 46 from this year's draft to the Demons for a 2025 third-round selection.

Pick 46 was originally linked to the Giants as part of the negotiations for James Peatling, who has requested a trade to West Lakes.

GWS reportedly asked for the selection (Pick 46) and a future second-round pick for Peatling, which will now need to be revised.

It leaves Adelaide with selections 4 and 64 in next month's National Draft, while the confirmed trade equips Melbourne with 5, 28, 40, 46 (Adelaide), 49, 54 and 65.

The Demons are also eyeing off Essendon's Pick 9.

Adelaide is bolstering their list for a strong push for finals in 2025, having already successfully lured Isaac Cumming (free agency) and Alex Neal-Bullen (Pick 28) to the club.

Peatling would assist in adding further depth to the midfield whilst also planning for life after Matt Crouch and Rory Laird.

It's understood that the Crows will only use its Pick 4 in the draft as it focuses on bringing in ready-made talent whilst holding Pick 64 for a potential bid on father-son Tyler Welsh.

Melbourne's trade period plans have been laid bare, equipping themselves with a solid draft hand to take to next month's National Draft.
