Geelong have signed delisted Carlton forward Jack Martin to a multi-year deal following his Blues departure.
The Cats have swooped on the services of the 29-year-old, who lands at Kardinia Park on a deal until the end of the 2026 season via delisted free agency.
Martin left Carlton following the 2024 season, seeing his time in the navy blue close after five years. Martin has played a total of 151 AFL games, having started his career with the Gold Coast Suns before seeking a move to Victoria at the end of the 2019 season.
Martin arrives at Geelong after an injury-riddled spell with the Blues, playing just 54 games at Princes Park due to soft-tissue setbacks.
The Broome product's well-documented injury battles are well known to Geelong, with football boss Andrew Mackie excited by the upside that Martin brings.
"We're aware of (the injury concern) clearly, but really excited about what the possibility could be if we get that right," Mackie said last month.
"It's going to be a work in progress with lots of people. We're open-minded about how that could look and how it would work from a loading point of view and from a genuine management point of view.
"A quality person Jack is, so we're really looking forward to the first of November, putting him on our list and seeing what can happen.
"Hopefully, the change as much as anything might work, there's no guarantees with that one, and we're open-minded but excited about the prospect of it."
Martin's move to Geelong follows the Cats' coup of Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith during last month's trade period and the addition of category B rookie Cillian Burke from Ireland this week.
Geelong also enters the draft period with selections 45, 57 and 75.
