Melbourne has secured hard-running youngster Harry Sharp from Brisbane as the Lions bank more draft capital for next month's draft.

Sharp joins the Demons along with Brisbane's 2025 third-round pick for Melbourne's 2024 Pick 49 and 2025 third-round selection (tied to Essendon).

The 21-year-old managed 16 games across four seasons since joining the Queensland club with Pick 43 in the 2020 National Draft.

Now Sharp will be able to ply his trade at the Demons, who farewelled Alex Neal-Bullen (Adelaide) and Lachie Hunter (retirement) at the cessation of the 2024 season.

The deal means the Lions have bolstered their draft hand ahead of matching likely bids on Levi Ashcroft and Sam Marshall at the National Draft in November.

Sharp was one of the emergencies for the Lions triumphant 60-point grand final win over Sydney.

Brisbane is now armed with a suite of picks (27, 34, 42, 43, 49, 60, 66) that should be able to match any bid for the incoming duo.
