Hawthorn and Fremantle have brokered a trade that has seen Jaeger O'Meara and Lloyd Meek swap clubs.
While the Dockers have gained O'Meara, they have also parted with a future second-round selection in a package that included Meek.
O'Meara made the move to Hawthorn in 2016, going on to play 99 games with the club, including 21 this season. Prior to his time at the Hawks, O'Meara spent four seasons at the Suns, managing 44 games while based in the sunshine state.
The 28-year-old only settled on Fremantle as his preferred club on Wednesday, deciding between on Dockers over GWS to continue his career.
O'Meara becomes one of several trades for the Dockers this trade period, with Luke Jackson and Josh Corbett joining the club, while Griffin Logue, Darcy Tucker and Blake Acres have also departed.
Meek had requested a trade following the arrival of Luke Jackson from Melbourne, who will pair alongside Fremantle's No.1 ruckman Sean Darcy.
Taken with pick 69 in the 2017 draft, the 24-year-old would only manage 15 games across two seasons and only six in season 2022 despite displaying tremendous form in the WAFL for Peel Thunder, winning the club's best and fairest.
A move to the brown and gold will kickstart his promising career and compete with Ned Reeves and Max Lynch for the main ruck position as the Hawks continue its youth rejuvenation phase under Coach Sam Mitchell.
